Seriously, these things are setup for top end not water sports. Drives in and tabs down and roll into the throttle, don't pin them from zero.

If you go down to a 26 you are going to be all over the rev limiter with that setup. You will probably get on plane faster but the setup you have now sounds spot on from a performance perspective.

I have a 496 twin step XR's 28 B1's top speed 80. There were LOTS of 496 lightning's built. The year I bought mine, our dealer built 3 496 powered 35's.

As I said, I considered it for my Avalanche, but rust is a real problem on my vintage. It's not bad yet...but there is just no stopping it once it is there.
