Sharkey-
Did you manage to get any shots of Vengeance with any of the boat actually in the water? :lolhit: j/k great shots as always. So how fast should that boat run with a 60 or 70 on it? TIA, Rick |
:drink:
It was built to fly !!! ;) 60 to 70 depending on weight. |
These guys went over the top to please the crowd.
Sequence shots of their flip are now uploaded... It eventually ended up canceling the rest of the day of racing.... :( All are ok... Jersey Outlaws Racing in Toms River http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...34612616-3.jpg |
The old Bullet looks great!
I think those blue boats are Verga Vipers. I remember they had a green one at surf and offshore sailing in Point Beach MANY years ago. I was a little kid, and thought they were just my size. Love to get a close up look at one after I've grown up a touch. |

I got something kinda simular to that blue one in my back yard? It may be a foot shorter and a tad bit wider. Has a 25 merc I think on back. Dont have a title it was abandoned by the owner about 2 years ago. I dont want it and would like to see it go.

She was back at it again this past weekend in Barnegat racing with the Jersey Outlaws. A total of 7 Mini Boats showed with 4 of the boats being the Bullet 130's I had built...
It's great to see these boats coming out and putting on a great show for the spectators... Here is a boat that I haven't seen since it was built in 1984. It was custom built with Balsa Core in the hull & deck and a 3 Color Gelcoat Red Black on White. and has been holding up very well over the years. http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/img/v4/p962446018.jpg http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...14980790-4.jpg http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...18590452-4.jpg http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...64476050-4.jpg http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/im...41312733-4.jpg |

We watched them running on Sunday off Barnegat! They looked great! Were you there Tim?
|
Man that looks like some serious fun! Many folks don't realize how much running a small boat teaches you about control - or lack thereof.

Just to make it interesting, while many run indirect steering on race boats, I ran direct cable steering... I can't tell you how many people warned me about running the boat with direct steering but it made me a much better driver overall. I don't recommend it to any one. For me though, I really liked the quick response.... :drink: Indirect steering would have a pulley at the wing plate and the cable would run back to the boat. As seen here in this poor image, it stops at the wing plate. The result is: 1 half turn of the steering wheel the engine would be fully turned to the left or right. While running at speed, I wouldn't need to move the wheel more than an inch or 2 to keep it from chine walking.... ;) http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/img/v4/p973500024.jpg |
