Are there any aircraft nuts on here that can identify and give some specs on some of the fighter planes in Pete's pics??

Incredible, Pete! Those are off the hook awesome!
Thanks. |
Great Shots Pete. Are you using one of those big swivel trypod mounts to use that 500 for these? That's got to be hard than shooting boats with that heavy lense.

wow
those are the Sharpest pictures I've ever seen I think .. amazing exposure speed, props apear to be stopped in some pictures, even Miss Gieco props, and the compression rings from the jet ... just amazing. Great Pictures.

Pete,
Great lighting on your pixs. Two things. Don't freeze the props on the aircraft. Pilots hate seeing their planes frozen in mid-air. ;) Second thing. Get that MKIII into Canon. You've got some pretty bad dust bunnies at not very wide apertures. :D |

Not very happy with the spot thing myself, Camera has been to Canon 3 times in a year and a 1/2 for cleaning. so it will go after KW. :( |
Pics looks awesome Pete! I wish I would of gone!

Regarding your question: The F-15 Strike Eagles with SJ are from Seymour Johnson AFB. Link

http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...0/7Z0X6297.jpg The Pair of Jets are the F-22 Raptor Demo Team, from Langley AFB. Link In the next Sequence, you've got a C-130 H Series, demo'ing an air to air refuel of a pair of Pave Lows (Army Variant is the Blackhawk). The F/A-18C Hornet, is part of the ACC East Demo Team. The C-17 Globemaster III is from Altus AFB, which has in many ways replaced the C-130 for lift & mobility purposes. Link Then finally, you have the USAF Thunderbirds, which fly F-16 Falcons. |
The F/A-18 is Assigned to VFA-106, the F/A-18 RAG squadron (Replacement Air Group) AKA Training Squadron for all east coast, Navy And Marine Corp pilots. The F/A -18 Replaced the A-7 Corsair II, is powered by to GE f404 Turbofan motors with Afterburners.
Thanks for all your help James! |
Pete,
Great shots, we were over in the Banana River by SR520, in the little boat watching, it was awesome when the Thunderbirds, F-18, and the F-15's would fly right over top or us! Dean |
