Default Looking for F-206LS

I am looking to purchase a Formula F-206 LS. the late 80's models seem to be the closest to my price range. I live Northwest of Chi. so anything in the midwest would work for me. Thanks

Check boattraderonline.com. There's one listed in WI.

Thanks for the heads-up. Although I have looked at the F-3 model before and it is like a pumped up version of the 203. Nice boats but unfortunately too much boat for where I want to keep it. I looked at the one in Winfield, I was amazed at how big it seemed standing behind the wheel. We can only keep a 21' or under boat in our subdivision. They are incredibally strict, 21'1" is too long, unfortunately this elimanates alot of really good boats. Lk. Geneva Wi. gets pretty choppy sometimes for a small boat, so you need something with a good hull.

The F-206 is 22' long if it has the Silent Thunder platform and 20.5' without add the trailer and it's almost 30' (28'+).
I have one (1988 model) and it takes up almost all of my driveway in length.
If you ever have any question just ask.

Just checked the copy I have of the original Formula brochure from 1988 and it lists the centerline length as 20'6", w/swim platform it's 22'1".
Does the platform make a difference? Or can you get away with having it?

Gee, I'll bet that's why they named it a "206". And, you know what?, I'll bet a 242 is 24'-2", and a 272 is 27'-2", and a 292 is 29'-2" and my 311 is 31'-1".

Sorry, couldn't resist being a wise-ass

Actually , isn't a 272 with the swim plaform the same size as a new 292. I know a new 271 is 2' shorter than my 272

A 272 is 28'11" with the platform. The 242, 272, 292, 311, 357 and anything earlier than a 91 or so were measured to the transom without the swim platform. They started including the platform in the length when they integrated them instead of bolting them on, like the 271, 312, 336, etc. I think...

You're exactly right Bill, and that was when Formula "sold out" to their customers in my opinion. A 1992 and later 271 is really no larger than the 1988 242 I once had. However, you pay the price of a 27 footer. I think late model Formulas are nice, well appointed, well built as usual for Formulas but it really annoys me that the boats are smaller and you pay the same price or more for them. Fountain has taken that rip-off to the max with the freakin' beak. I had my 311 next to a 32 Fever, what a joke! That Fever was teeny. And all I here from the Fountain boys is "my 32 is faster than your 31". Big deal, their 32 has about as much useable space as a 27'. I know I'm ranting here but Formula was the last one you could buy in 1991 that was truely as big as advertised. Then they went they way of all the rest - the all mighty buck always rules. The newer 312 has a lot less fiberglass than the old 311. Costs Formula less to make but we pay more (even after adjusting for inflation over the years). Like I said, the new ones are nice but I'll keep my big old classic hot rod!!!

'nough said.
