Need Hard to find TRS PART or Specs
#1
I have a problem. On my boat I have TRS drives with Merc Transmisions. There is a "pilot" Bearing that goes in the cranc of the engine and keeps the drive shaft on the trany from moving that is missing in my set up. I have looked for one and no one seems to have them. Does anyone have one or the specs so that I can have my machinist make it? I could pull both motors and take measurements from the other but that is a HUGE pain in the butt that I would like to avoid.

I have tried Dollar, Sea Way Marine, Rigs, Supriem, and Jay Catelone. All say no go.
The part Number I have is 23-71647 does that match up to what you have?

These guys don't need no stinkin' part numbers. They just have a lot of boxes of old stuff. I'll call them and see if they pulled any merc trannys in thev last couple years. They're getting REALLY rare though. If they dont have the bearing, I'll see if they have a tranny to measure the input shaft diameter. A machine shop should be able to bore or sleeve a standard GM pilot bearing to the correct ID pretty cheap.

Wally if I had the dimensions it would be a snap unfortunatly that would require me to not only remove the engine but take precise measurements that I am not 100% sure I can pull off.
There has to be a few of these floating around some were!!!!
I also tried Bam, and a couple others. Bam got me some hot leads that I am now chasing.
