I came across an ad for a 1999 41 Legend White Lightning while browsing the classified section. I can distinctly remember seeing the boat for sale at Fort Apache in 2000. Does any one know the history of this boat? It looks a lot like an Apache/Saber. I'm just curious to learn more about this boat.
Thanks

A gentleman by the name of Steve Radovich of Seattle built it and had about 800k in it. It is suppossedly afull composite boat and yes it is a little bit narrower version of the 41 Apache. I have seen it crawled through it and has some beautiful rigging in it. Don't know why it didn't sell but thats all I can tell you about it so far. BTW it was donated and is currently for sale at The Aqua Toy Store.

there was a rumor that she "went for a swim" at one point. No idea if it was true or not. I believe it was becasue it had brand spankin new upholstery put in and then was mysteriously reupholstered in the same color a short time after the first reupholstery.

I saw the boat at the Toy Store in Lauderdale in 2001 and it looked nice. I think the one-off thing may scare a lot of potential buyers, as well as it seems that no one really knows the builder. I thought that I read he builds or has built sail boats and that the quality and rigging of White Lightening was very good. The thing must run at about the 100 mph range with the 6's on boxes and not much in terms of cabin weight, nice sled...Matt
