It is a big job for a DIYer but not impossible depending on your skilset. Engine/drive needs to come out along with everything mounted to the transom. Swim platform too. Go on utube and look up fishbumptv. That guy has a full catalog of videos on what you will need. Good luck. 👍

First off, thanks! It’s not my first rodeo, I did my cigarette back in the early 2000’s unfortunately it was before smart phones and what knows what happened to those pics. I appreciate the responses, was looking for specifics for this boat. Experiences even. This is my next winter project and sitting until then. I’ll start a thread when I get started. I’m sure I’ll have lots more questions along the way.

Formula didn't do the best job sealing them up and the silent thunder is a transom killer. Water gets trapped and leaks past the exhaust as well as the attaching points. And that's just the transom. Water also gets trapped around the gas tank and makes its way to the front and rear bulkheads. The grid around the tank is not glassed (the wood was only used as a form for the fiberglass subfloor) and rots potentially taking out the stringers all the way up into the cabin.
Not to be the harbinger of doom - they're good boats and I loved my 311 - but these things are approaching 40 years old, and unfortunately, Formula cut some corners. Hopefully, it's only the transom.
Good luck.
