I don't know what's up down there but I always thought that it was funny that in our last year of racing, the only races that were aired on tv were the ones that a fountain won. There were plenty of times in F2 that we (Outerlimits) won as well as the Cigarette in our class but they never made it to tv. Fountain was the big sponsor then also.
Thanks Reggie

I was trying to watch OLN's coverage of the Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix, and it might has well been a Fountain Commercial. I got so sick of it I turned it off before halfway through the program.
Until we starting seeing real racing coverage, (instead of "Racing with Reggie"), like we USED to see on SpeedVision, I'd just as soon watch paint dry.
You could walk across the Pacific Ocean on his ego...

I will agree, the OLN show has too much Fountain but that's SBI I guess.
Would be nice if others would step up and contribute to boat racing which would expand the sport and make it more popular.

Re: What's this about Reggie not wanting Mike to play?
I was in the area (Beekville) last week and decided to take a ride by the plant. Not much going on, parking lots with very few cars, only saw two new boats in the yard, and a bunch of used boats out back. Things really looked SLOW!!!
Thanks,
Dail

You see so many Fountains because there are so many of 'em racing.
I don't own one, so I don't have my Fountain cheerleader dress on. But hey, there's no denying they're fast.

Re: What's this about Reggie not wanting Mike to play?
Has Mike started in two races this year in order to qualify? I am not taking up for Reggie but I do know that is a rule that might be what they are trying to enforce. Either way they should let him race, maybe say he is able to win but since he has not qualified, he would not be able to go for the world Championship title. That would seem fair to me.

Watching the races yesterday, there were a ton of fountains racing and many did very well. Then i heard reggie on the radio doing his commeical thing, then say tha "cats are extremely dangerous" (exacty quote) which kinda pissed me off. I think OL should race more, it woudl be great for the sport and industry. Fountins also finished 1,2,3 infront of the 39 Skater V which i thought was impressive.

Re: What's this about Reggie not wanting Mike to play?
If racing offered a decent return on investment, more companies would be racing. As it stands right now, it costs a lot of time and money, the racing organizations themselves are (as usual) a political mess with inconsistent rules, a lack of sponsors, and no TV deal to increase a small fan base.
Spending several hundred K to run a race team for a season to maybe sell another boat or two isn't good economics, especially for a lot of the small guys. Companies like Cigarette, OL, etc probably get a lot more interest in their boats from doing the Poker Run circuit than they ever would from racing OSS/SBI/APBI/ABC/XYZ/PDQ, etc etc.

Re: What's this about Reggie not wanting Mike to play?
win , loose , draw, fountain is the record holder. his boats go fast, turn hard, and take a beating. i am not nor will ever be a coat tail ryder, but professionally speaking ,other's in the buisness do need to give as much as they have recieved from the industry as mr . fountain has. it would lead to more exposure as a whole and probably due more for racer's and poker runner's alike. as well as pleasure boater's.
p.s this bad boy finishes 2 nd in p2 wed's.

Re: What's this about Reggie not wanting Mike to play?
Theres alot of nice choices other than Fountain. Big guys don't fit for one. It's tight and I am 5'9".
I do have to say that Dania race on OLN was rough 4-6' and the Rio and Intimidator were riding smooth, level at 112.
Fountains aren't wave crushers, they skip over the top.
They WILL pound you if you don't go fast enough to puddle jump.
