As a result of the other thread about lake county, some of us have gotten together and are now ready to officially announce the "Lake Harris Rally for Humanity" to benefit Central Florida tornado victims.

The run itself will be on Saturday March 17, with a meet and greet the Friday before, and a fun run and rafting party on Sunday.

We are still working out some of the details, but the lunch stop at Crazy Gators in Eustis and the banquet at Harborside Restaurant on the Dead River are locked in. The Saturday run will start at Hickory Point Park (south of Tavares on Hwy 19, on the north side of the Howey Bridge) with registration and a drivers meeting. From there the run will have card stops throughout Lake Harris and Lake Eustis, for a total distance of approx. 50 miles.

Tavares is the closest city to the Hickory Point Park boat ramp. It is about 30 minutes from the Velocity factory in Sanford. We are still working out the details on which hotel to use.
