Default Lunch at the ESPLANDE, Marco Island, Saturday Feb. 2 / 08

Come by boat, come by car, but just come and join me for lunch at the ESPLANADE on Marco Island. For those coming by boat, I will be passing by the Sanibel Bridge at 11:00 am on Sat. morning Feb. 2nd. and you are welcome to join me for the 45 minute ride south to Marco Island.
If your boat is down for maintenance or repairs, feel free to jump in your car and drive down. We should be there by noon or shortly after. For those driving, the ESPLANADE is on Collier Blvd. right across from McDonalds.
This is very informal and just come as you are. A great chance to meet and make new offshore friends.
Also there are a few restaurants to choose from. In addition to Guy Harvey's that is great, there is the Star Bar and Bayview all with patio's that overlook Smokehouse Bay.
I look forward to seeing whoever can make it.
Bob

Bob,

When entering from the Marco River into the canal that shoots off to the south towards Smokehouse Bay, how deep is it? The entryway looks VERY narrow, like you have to stay way over by the docks just to get through. Or am I being paranoid?

Craig:

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean the sandbar isn't out to get you.

Ha, your being paranoid Craig. It is probably close to 100 ft wide. Enough room for 2 way traffic. You are right tho, there is more depth on the east ( dock ) side of the canal but still no problem. Do not cut the corner on entering or leaving the canal at the river as there is bit of a sand spit in that corner. ( west side )

We will be there if the weather is nice! Bob would you mind if we follow you down to ESPLANADE? We have never been there and don't want to get into any trouble.

Thanks!

Bob,

if I dont have to work, I will come over and meet y'all. If you have room, I may jump aboard with you, or just meet ya at the Esplanade. Saturday I rebuilt the carbs on the Pantera, and Sunday moved the Batteries forward for weight transfer, and rerigged the whole electrical system, Just have te rewire the trim tabs and install the oil tank now, if I hustle during the week I could have it done for saturday, but it is filthy from being worked on, and still untested, so i am better off not rushing it one more time.
