What is the scoop on the 30' Mystique? Other than 496 engines, which I dont care for, is it a good hull? Stepped??
Anyone with knowledge of this model? I like the look and a 30ft boat would be good for me and my family.
Thanks

Hey Kirk, I've got many hours behind the wheel of a T/S Mystique. The T/S handles very well, no issues at all. If you want one, your hardest part will be finding one. I think there wass less than 5 made.
The only drawback for a family boat is the cockpit space is very small. if you're in the back, standing is not an option as the bosters are very close to the rear seat.
Double R has a very clean T/S, if you want one I'd seriously consider that one and re-power. They respond very well to more power!

ive got a 2000 mystique with 500hp EFI's and the issues i was warned about are not really there, the cockpit seating isnt as big as a top gun but certainly you can stand or be confortable in the back, im a 230lb guy and i can stand very easy behind the bolster seats, or anywere for that matter, they guy who owned it before me sent me a pic of it on a poker run and there must have been 9 people in the thing
as for the porposing, its really a non factor, especially if you know how to work a trim tab just a little bit
i love the boat, im going through the motors now and plan to keep it for many yrs to come

Hey guys.
I'm new to this (sounds like an AA meeting).
I've been reading your posts on the Mystiques with great interest.
As soon as I can sell a 340 Dancer, I'm going to be seriously looking. I've owned a few Bajas but never a Cigarette. I'm looking forward to stepping up to the plate.
My question is this, there is a '02 Mystique on Offshore Only for $115,000 (this maybe the one previously mentioned). It seems priced right ($115,000) compared to some other Mystiques out there. Is there some issue with this one?
Remember, I'm new to this so pardon the silly questions.
Any help would be appreciated.

I suppose one thing confusing me so much is the price variations.
There is a:
2001 in Fla w/ 454 mag for 149,900 (non step of course)
2002 in TX w/ 496 HO for 99,950 (this one is not stepped)
I realize the 496's are not the power of choice, but how do you compare the stepped hulls w/ the non stepped hulls?
Aside from power, the 01 in Fla seems a bit high.
Thanks for the input

I own a 2000 non-step Mystique with twin 500 efis. On my Mystique it is very easy to stand in the back and have never had a problem with room. Great boat and also for me the 30' was the right size. The non step mystiques do use a lot of tab to keep it from purpousing (spell check). I paid just under a $100,000 for a mint 2000 (2 seasons ago) with a 130 hours and sitting on a myco that needed some tlc. A great boat.
