Default Engine stands

As I'm getting older lol I like to try and make things easier, I converted and engine stand around 4 years ago and just done another one this week. I use a simple gear box reducer from Princess Auto (in Canada) weld some metal together make a bracket and the end result is an engine stand that's super easy to turn the engine on.

I use a bigger gear box on our diesel engine stand dressed Volvo Penta 41 series is around 1100 lbs and handled that with ease.

Great idea. it is a pain to rotate the engine over especially with the blower on .

This year I bought a new rotating stand(jegs) haven`t used it yet. Hopefully it works the same .

Excellent regardless of age, strength etc. Tks for sharing. What also is nice is electric jack stand for trailer. First time I ever had one in over 30 years of boating. The younger years with smaller boats not really a big deal but when you get up in size and weight they are slick.

You will not regret your new engine stand, I love them with having a worm gear set up it can't spin on you and it will stay when ever you stop turning the handle

Yep, worth every penny. I can rotate a fully dressed BBC with one hand turning.
