Congrats to all winners of the Kilos..
IMHO ALL participants that stress their machines and themselves to the limits in the unknown arena of water are all winners...
Thanks guys/gals..
Are there ever going to be Kilos in Florida??

For the past few years APBA would always do their kilos at the 4th of July race (Sarasota, and more recently Savannah, which was less than ideal) ... it would seem that the Sarasota 4th of July race, with both APBA and SBI, would be the place to do it, but I'm betting SBI has some commitment to Fountain to only have them in Washington, NC.

I believe UIM requires timing lights installed. If this was a UIM certified run, then it would have had to been done the right way. A measured course and timing lights.
From the APBA web site.
Under the A.P.B.A. – U.I.M. sanctioning rules, each boat must make two total runs, one coming from the start to finish and the other back. Speeds are then averaged based with an intricate scoring system that records the actual start and finish times as they cross the beginning and ending points of the Kilo course on each run.

I don't know the details, and I won't repeat some comments, but there were more more than a few racers unhappy about the "Politics" of the race site.
