Default 2.5's or 300x's 30 Spectre

I think this has been dicussed before but what are your opinions on 2.5's between 300X's on a 30'. Twin application. 50% ocean 50% lake.

I would go with the 2.5's the 300x are not worth the few extra mph!

here is a couple of bullet points about the 2.5's

1. more durable and reliable in ocean running
2. more economical to repair/ stronger lower unit
3. lighter the boat flies better offshore
4. can be proped to out accelerate first guy to 100 wins!
5. lighter on fuel when cruising.
6. full race engines wind up and sound great 7500plus rpm
7. diomond marine can make them scream reliably.
8.

drawbacks
1. careful shifting don't like idling for extended periods
2. oil gas mix and synthetic blend required
3. no smartcraft.

30 spectre outboard boat is a great boat!
