Default SuperFest Tragedy

The good news:

Pat "Mad Irish" McPherson wins:

- Longest ride to Superfest Award (all the way from CT)
- Most people in boat Award (4 total, all guys - Fire Island loved it)
- And the coveted "Only Superboat at Superfest" Award.

Pat's 24ft Superboat was the only Superboat at Superfest. There was only one other boat. Mine. White Trash.

And then there were many phone calls:

Lots of cancels.
Sudden explosion of workload. (Yeah,sure.)
Sickness in the family.
Got lost on I95.
The dog ate my Superboat.

Nobody blamed the weather. It was just marvelous.

The sought-after "Most hysterical trailer queen of Superfest" Award was won by Grand Wizard Tripps.

First, he forgot that there was a thing called tide. His boat was high and dry well into the Superfest afternoon.

When the tide finally brought some water, Tripps blew, as in blew up, one of his three eggbeaters. It disintegrated. Exploded. Detonated.

Therefore, Superfest 2003 relocated to the Seagull. The few boatful Superfest attendants met with the large crowd of boatless Superfest attendants, and a good time was had by all.

We had a tour of Zzzzzzuperfest's Garage and saw the planet's largest collection of blown parts. We then invaded Tripps home and crashed in their lving room.

(Thanks for the shower!)

Photos to follow.

We made it home safe and sound...

Special Thanks to Tripps, his wonderful Wife, and Sister in-law for turning Superfest from a Super flop to a Super good time.

Thanks Zuperboat for letting my Superboat reside in Zuperboats float lift for the night.

My crew and I had a tremendous adventure this weekend traveling some 200+ miles. We got to see a whole new playground and met some great new friends.

Happy Boating

So Superfest 2003 ended where it all began: At the Gull in Babylon. Where boatful and boatless people mix and mingle.

People came all the way from Germany and Eastern Long Island to mix it up with the die-hard revelers from Babylon.

The premiere powerboating event attracted powerboaters from as far away as Boston.
