Default Bravo one x diesel v bravo one xr

i have a 36 feet Rib boat that we use for charter trips here in Norway.

the standard boat comes with 2 yanmar diesel 315 hp engines and bravo one x diesel drive.

we wanted some stronger drives and the dealer suggested bravo one xr and ITS system.

now we have the boat with xr drives and ITS system, but it seems like our boat is slower than the standard boat running with bravo one diesel x drives!!

is there any differens in speed on these drives ?, it seems like the xr drive has a bigger gearcase housing at the pictures?

we have a raced prep. bravo one 28" prop, runs 51.7 knots at 4100 rpm ! my freind has the same boat with a original bravo one 28" runs 52 knots at 3800 rpm

we are considering if we should test the maximus prop, anyone tested it??

sounds like a gear ratio problem check with the dealer to see if youve been supplied the correct ratio to suit a diesel engine

With the ITS system if it were mounted in the same location as the stock Bravo the skeg and prop shaft will be deeper in the water causing more drag.. That could explain the speed difference. And yes check the gear ratios... The XR uses the same top gear for all ratios while some Bravos use different upper gears...
