Default Help Serious Chatter

Two years ago when I stored my boat, ( before I built my house), I had a serious chatter, I only had the boat in the water maybe three times that year but it got progressively worse. It is a standard perf. 454, 89' model with 285 hours. yesterday I pulled the manifolds off and valve covers expecting to see broken valve springs. I have 3" riser extensions that were leaking a few years back. The top of the heads are absolutly perfect like they just came offf the parts shelf. One buddy said it sounded as if the lifters were bad. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ted

Crank the motor and watch for a wiped out lobe.

I'll try as soon as the rain stops. Could this be causing that much chatter. I've had "pinging" before but this was excessive. I will give it a shot.
