What to do with PU in drive after installing a transom PU

I'm getting ready to install a transom water pick up, but what do I do with the pick up that's in the drive? The fitting through the transom?

I have a low water pick up Bravo with a cone added.

Let the water go through the drive and then install a fitting to dump it on top of the drive.

Like Griff said. The water running through the drive helps in cooing the drive internally.
