I bought a DB meter, no more guessing.
Not a plug for Radio Shack. I was just amazed how cheap these things are. $49 for a digital "Sound Level Meter" as they are called. DB's from 60-126. This way I can know for sure where I stand with the watercops. I just bought some Racecrafters mufflers that look like they will do the job. Will test them soon. The last ones did not work so well. 110db mufflers off and 105db on using a local marina's meter. Ouch
