:doggy: :doggy: Anyone out there know which of these Donzi's handles better.
The 1996 Donzi 27 ZX or the 1997 Donzi ZX stepped hull?
Mostly interested which is better in a big swell,

The '96 27 is gonna' take fair amount of hp to get out of it's own way, but is a pretty decent handler...step-bottomed boat
runs like you'd expect; very flat, and OK speed w/ stock type power. Same general driving techniques apply, as with any step-bottomed boat. Hope that helps a little...

If I would make the choice I would go with the 1996 Non Step you will loose about 2 mph aithout thte step, but the first step bottom 27ZX was not a great bottom. Donzi revised the bottom in 1999 and made the step bottom better. If you look at the configuration in 2000 the cockpit was pulled foward, the steps were moved back and the boat had one of the best rides you could ask for
