How Do I Clean All That Exhaust From The Transom, And What Do I Use To Make It Shinny Like New Again, And So The Exhaust Doesn't Stick Like This Again?

409 orange actually works realy well for soot on the transom. Just spray it on real heavy and wipe it and it comes right off. Cheap and won't damage gell at all what more could you ask for?

once you get it all cleaned up, wax the transom a couple times and that wil make it a lot easier to clean next time. If you don't stay on top of this, the soot will eventually stain the transom (like on my boat)

Theres a product called ON-OFF I've used. It's nasty nasty stuff. It's hydrochloric acid I think. Its made for cleaning the hulls of boats but I works great for soot if it's been there a while. Use chemical resistant rubber gloves, don't get it on your skin, and try not to breathe the fumes. You can get it at any marine store

I've tried both wax and polish. Any good marine grade polish works best. Soot sticks to the wax (don't know why). If it's really cruddy, try cleaning it first with FSR Fiberglass Remover or "Slimy-Grimey". Both of these products are not caustic like "On & Off" which is mainly used as a bottom cleaner.

Works really good on yellow stains etc. Much cheaper by the gallon @ your local Sears.
