Mercury Racing’s X-Site facility will hold an open house for all race teams participating in Panama City’s Thunder on St. Andrews Bay offshore powerboat races May 20-22, 2005. X-Site Manager, Bill Harris, has extended an invitation to race teams to tour Mercury’s 10-million dollar race team support facility located on Watson Bayou in Panama City between Noon and 4:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2005.
The X-Site facility is open to race teams who run Mercury engines, inboard and outboard, for testing and setup prior to the races. A recent policy change at X-Site allows race teams who run non-Mercury outdrives to also use the facility’s resources.
Facility resources are available on a fist come basis. Teams who wish to test specific equipment setups may need to wait until another team has finished with their testing before the parts and/or equipment are available.
X-Site has a large selection of Mercury propellers, outdrives, and outdrive spacers available for teams to try before they buy. The facility also has the ability to weigh boats and check boat balance.
Mercury Racing technical support staff is on-site to answer any questions and assist race teams who use the facility’s resources.
Race teams who would like to come to the facility prior to the Panama City race or remain in Panama City after the race to use the facility can contact Bill Harris or Mike Owens @ 850-769-1011.
Thank you, Mercury Racing and X-Site, for your support of Thunder on St. Andrews Bay

This is great opportunity. Teams can come in a couple of days early and do some testing and setup and then head out on the same water to the real world of testing....Offshore Powerboat Racing.
Merc Racing X-Site guys are very, very, good at setting boat balance and fine tuning your setup to get that extra 1/2 mile per hour and handling.
You can also get your drive checked while your there. They have special tools to check for tiny little cracks you can't see with the naked eye.
If you need parts, get 'em at the discounted Racer pricing only available at X-Site.
The chance to use X-Site's 10 million dollar facility to set your boat up, test a bunch of props from their prop board and then go test in the real world of offshore racing....all in one location....its a no brainer.
You know what's the best thing about this, if you running Mercury power ....IT ALL FREE!!
