1/ The name and address of every 'genuine' UK person is held on the local Electoral register in their town.

2/ Every single address in the UK has a Post Code, it gets mail down to one of about 20 Houses, in some cases even less.

www.Streetmap.co.uk a UK map search engine.
Verify a place by the post code ,the phone code, or the street name.

www.Google.co.uk
Punch in the post code and you should get some relvant information back about the general location. Even if its just a failed building planning application.
E.G. If you try BN97 2ZP in streetmap.co.uk and google.co.uk you'll find its a fake. Dont forget to push the "results from UK only" button.

The UK's largest online Phone book. List other occupants at the persons address too, and, whether any are directors of Limited Companies.

Stick electoral register into Google Uk and youll find online acess to it ,but you have to pay.

P.S Most of the English have left for France or Spain now,but you might be lucky and pick up a low mileage Albanian or Cossevan.

Sounds a bit bogus to me - there should be more than that, as Donzi said ask for a post code! If it's someone asking to buy a boat or something be very wary!
