Lake Champlain Milk Run-June 11
#1
Looking for a few more Northeast Velocity owners for the Lake Champlain Milk Run on June 11th. Check out the threads under Poker Runs and OSO Gatherings to see the current list. The lake can be WILD and the city of Burlington, VT just as well. Real nice downtown ramp. If any other Velocitys are interested, let me know and I can give a hand with logistics.

I hope to float my 05 290 this weekend in Winnipesaukee. It has been tough staring at it in the drive since March 5th. Nice to finally see some action on Champlain. Had a slip downtown several years ago when there were very few real boats on the lake.

Glad to see the ice has broken on the lake. Velocity4me what kind of RPM and speeds are you turning with that 525 in the 290. Are you still running the 5 blade hydro prop? Thanks John

Hi John,
I am still running p5x 53 to 5400 rpm is 82 on Gps.The wife and I are going out for our first run of the new season on Friday. The weather is clear and in the mid 80's up here in Vermont.
How are you making out with your 290?

That is great, old man winter has had a death grip on the Carolina's so for this year. Yesterday was our first 80 degree day since last summer and here it is the first week of June.
My 290 SC is the proud recipiant of a Mercruiers 500HP EFI. This engine has 31 hours on it same as the boat. It also has aluminum heads (Canfield) but other than that is is a stock engine. It seems to run great but the original 28 pitched labbed prop that came on the 496 is just to weak. I am going to try a Bravo 28 pitch right out of the box to see how it does, thats why a had asked you about your prop and RPM. I do not know what the rev limiter is set at on this HP 500 , but would have to imagine it is 5200 or 5300. Do you have any ideas? Glad to here all is well on the lake and you are able to get the wife and the boat out on the lake at the same time.
Have a great and safe summer.
