I need help. I have 1.36 gears and a 26 bravo. I can't get over 4800 rpm with my 525 efi. I have been told to get a labbed 26 or a stock 24 bravo or change my gears. Any body have the above they want to sell? I would rather just change props but the gears I could use for a spair if I went to a wipple I could put the 1.36 gears back in.

I would try the prop swap. Less money. But if your drive is due for a freshen up.. then maybe that route. But find 1:5 gears is getting harder to do. Next step is do the X gear upgrade, that gives you all new upper parts.
I would try the $300 prop. Not that I am against the labbing process, but the blades get real thin when they are labbed and they dont do well in the gravel pits.. Besides, if you get the 24, you can have that labbed and save the 26 for when you move up to more horsepower.. which we all know everyone does at some point..

I have the 525 efi and I called whipple yesterday to see about the upgrade. $10,000. So for now it looks like I'll be changing props.
