I need a place to launch a 38' tomorrow. I am coming from Ft Wayne, IN and want to launch near Mi City or further west. Will be heading to Chicago from there.

Pastrick Marina in East Chicago, In. or Hammond Marina in Hammond In. would be your best bet. Both have long ranps are easy to use

I know its up the river a-ways but not sure exactly how to get there. Great place to boat.

Pastrick and Hammond have nice ramps. Hammond has a longer slip at the ramp. It may be easier for you to launch there. I have seen a 50 Nortech launch at Pastrick with no problem but they had to push the boat away from the slip before backing the trailer in to retrieve the boat. The dock's are sort of short but manageable.

If you are going to be around over the weekend let us know. We keep our boat on T-dock at Hammond. We plan to launch on Saturday.

I launch my 35' from Trail Creek Marina in Michigan City, right across the creek from the casino boat. It's the only place in MC that can handle that big of a boat and our lakehouse is just around the lighthouse/jetty. Some other forum members launch their 38' Top Guns or Flat Decks from there as well. The only downside to launching there is that the ramp is a little short underwater, there are yellow markers for it, and it drops straight down. Depending on the water level, you need to be careful you don't back off the end of the ramp.

I understand that the water level is the same as last year. Sill below average, but above a couple of years ago. You should be fine at Trail Creek.
