I just got finished installing a complete CMI exhaust system complete with liquid sound mufflers.
I called Trick Marine as it sounded like from this board lots of guys had good success with Fred and the rest of the guys from Trick.

I re-powered to a 500 HP EFI conversion from 502 MPI. The project is being done at home after work so it takes a couple of months.
The self imposed deadline is our family's annual fathers day trek to Indian Arm in Vancouver B.C.
All was going well until I got the mill installed and started to look for solutions to the exhaust routing and silencing.

Like lots of people I was shooting for very quiet with minimal loss.
I was trying to figure out how I would plumb the silent choice system in when Fred got me in touch with CMI directly.
They gave me an option of a new full time muffler called liquid sound. After taking a look at pics I thought "This is not the prettiest thing but if it works it will sure save a huge pain plumbing the silent choice." ( lots of clearance issues) So I go for it.
They gave me great price and I worked with Fred on getting these things shipped to Canada with minimal hassle.
Things started to go off the rails as the shipment got hung up in customs with a UPS oops on the paperwork.

I called Fred and he seemed to drop everything to get the paperwork thing straightened out with customs.
Long story short is parts clear and I have the mufflers the next day.
More good news is the are not nearly as ugly as they look on CMI's web site.

So I go about installing these as this is the last thing I need to get sorted before I turn the Key.
Anyone who has done a re-power to something different knows this is a huge milestone!

This all goes pretty well and I try to do the very last step. Install the tailpipes. I have never had CMI exhaust so I did not know the difference between flange styles. I soon realize that something does not seem right with the rope seals I got from Fred with the Mufflers.
(Headers and Tails came with used 502 I resurrected.)
After talking with CMI I realize I have the Flex Flare system and the WRONG seals!

It is now Thursday afternoon and Fathers day is Sunday!
I succumb to the fact that I'm not going boating or fishing with my boys unless it is standing on the dock!

I am 2 hours north of Vancouver Canada and that is a long way from Trick Marine in South Carolina to get gaskets in a few hours!

I talk with Fred and it is about 3 O clock South Carolina time on Thursday afternoon.
Fred says he will send the correct gaskets out right away. I have NO ambitions that they will be in Whistler before early next week.

I arrive home from doing some errands Friday morning at about 11AM and there is a UPS package on my doorstep.

It's the frickin gaskets!!!!!!!! I almost crap myself with excitement.
Whip boat cover off finish installing tails, everything lines up perfect,run the preluber, drop in the distributor and turn the key.
SMOKE ON THE WATER!!!.

A few tweaks today and the boys are off fishing tomorrow!

Needless to say I am extremely impressed with Fred and his team at Trick Marine. Anyone who has not done business with this guy is missing out on the best customer service I have had the pleasure in years.

Hats off to Trick!

Well we fished today and had 3 very happy boys. Me included.
I will do more testing on Monday with a DB meter and post results in another thread along with pics.
Exhaust not as quiet as my wife would like but really goes away once on plane.
Snufflers will be next.
