I am wondering what oil pressure other 454 Mag EFI 385hp owners are seeing on their engines. Mine is 40 - 41 at anything above idle and 20 at idle 600 rpm. The manual says at 2000 rpm and above 30 - 70 is normal and not less than 4 at idle. I am just wondering if my numbers are normal or on the low side compared to others. Thanks!

When I had my 454 Mag MPI motor, I had just about the same pressures you are seeing. I would say that you are fine.

I am 60 psi when running and 25 at idle, right after a hard run. After it cools back down will idle at 40psi.

My stock 454s were about the same as Paytons. Your's don't sound out of the ordinary

Got MarinePower 454 efi's--seeing same numbners as evberyone else. I'm using Castrol Dino/Synthetic Blend oil.
