Been on the upper James (Richmond/ Hopewell) for many years. Debris gets ugly 2-3 days after the rain starts in the mountains and lasts about a week. It dispearses significantly down river from the Benjamin Harrison Bridge (where we will start the run Sat.)
Sat leaving should be clean, Sun coming back...keep an eye out

I can't wait. I have been thrashing on getting the boat PM'd and cleaned. Looks like that might come to a screaching halt this afternoon, but I will be there none the less. Mary Sue will be joining us on Saturday morning.

Be aware, I-95 Southbound is currently shut down between Fredericksburg and Kings Dominion (mm 126-121 re-routed to Rt. 1 South) due to a tanker spill that requires the road be repaved. Calculate this into your travel plans if heading south toward Richmond. Its bound to be gagged up for a couple days. WTOP 107.7 FM has good info in the DC area.

I heard on the radio that the detour onto Rt1 took some motorist 4 hours today and I95 delays started at mm 140.
The detour north and south is exit 126-Massaponax to exit 118-Thornburg.
We are leaving in the wee hours Saturday morning, shouldn't be too bad. For those of you heading south Friday night, it might be very ugly.
