I'm looking at a 87 checkmate convicor 25' with a 454 and a alpha 1. Boat's in good shape. The only thing I don't like is the alpha 1. Is it worth $15000. I will be trading a custom motorcyle for it so Let me know please.

I bought an 87 with the 330 and Alpha combo several years ago. It lasted three trips before breaking the drive and leaving me stranded for 6 hrs on lake Michigan. ( and a big tow bill ) I swaped the alpha for a new bravo and 600 plus horses. It's a great boat , by the way it's for sale. What kind of bike are you trading ?

Where is the Convincor located that you are looking at? If its in Upstate NY I may know the boat.

Averill park, NY is where it's at. It's red and white. I deciede to not do the trade. Would cost me too much to change it to a Bravo. I planed on putting bigger power in it and from what I've heard the alpha's don't even like a stock Big block's tq. Thanks for the replies. The bike I was going to trade is a Big dog that has been customized.

15K is high, especially with the alpha.
