Can any damage happen by torq'n heads to tight?
#1
When I installed my heads on my 502, I went by the torque lbs. that where stated in my Mercruiser manual (92 lbs). The bolts where new ARP. ARP instructions read "torque to 62 lbs" when using there lube.
What could be the worse scenario my torquing to 92 lbs.?

worst case if you used their lube:
-overstretch/stress head bolts reducing bolt elasticity
potentially causing early bolt failure
-causing it very difficult to remove in future removal especially if heads got hot at any time
-(potentially) early head warpage if alluminum heads and torque sequence was suspect and heads got hot
