I test drove one about a 4 years ago, it had a 502 mpi w/ procharger. I did not like the boat at all it had very little bow lift so it felt like it was nosed over the whole time, it was very slow in getting on plane, I know it was hard on the drive.
My opinion Go for the twins you can find them for just a little more money than most people ask for a single.
I have a buddy with one that is a 1999 two 600+HP on a brand new alum trailer. I think he would sell his for upper 70's low 80's. the boat runs 110MPH on GPS.

Guys,
Newbie to the site, wanted to say howdy! I have a 2004 28 T^D with boxes, shorty's, 496 Mag HO's running 32 lab finish Merc's. Having said all that, with a half tank of gas and 3 people mine will run 99 all day. No exagerations here, although I was a Fountain man for a number of years! Livorsi tattle tale GPS. Don't have too much problem getting on plane, I think I just lucked out on a good setup! One monster engine?? No way, go for the twins.

we are building a 28 daytona with a 1075 merc with a dry sump#6 drive. Nothing against a single bravo in a 28 but i think it's alot of boat for a bravo drive and big power.
