what should the top speed of this boat be and what brand and size prop is recomended?

72 w/ a mirage 23 if it has a 1:50 gear ratio.

I have a 91 with 454 Mag.
1.36 gears and 21P Mirage Plus.

Runs in the high 60's. I have never gps'd it but ran next to someone who had theirs and was running 66 with some trim left in it.

I had a 91' ( 15* deadrise) with
a 502, 1.36:1 ratio drive.

It came with a 23 mirage ( this was
before the mirage + existed)
I put a 24 turbo on it, it ran a little
faster than the mirage.

In stock form it ran low 70's on radar.

I did try a hyromotive intimidator 4 blade....it didn't
like it.

If you have 1.5:1 gearing, you may have
to go up to a 25.

Have 1.50 ratio drive. HAve a 21 mirage on it now. Low end and planing is great.

Have a :
21 Tubo modifiled to be more like a 22
23 Mirage Plus
25 Mirage.

What RPM range should this motor max between? Also when will the Rev limiter kick in?

5100 +/- 50 rpm, I think. What are you seeing now? I would def. try the mirage plus. I think that boat will swimg a 23...?

With the 21 my doesn't plane worth sh*t if I have more 2 people in the boat. That's with the tabs down.

It accelerates in the upper rpm ranges good. Can turn that 21 up to 5000 +- some rpm.

must be the 1.36 drive. Mine planes in about 2-3 seconds with no tabs with the 21. It will rev to 5200 - 5400 though. Too high. going to try the 23 Mirage Plus this weekend.

put the 23 Mirage on and could not get good top end numbers do to conditions.

at 3800 RPM the speedo (Faria) was reading 40 MPH

Boat seemed to porpose at bit also. Usually doesn't. Could it be the prop?
