Has any one changed their stock Bravo III props. Are you happy with them? How much did they cost. And where did you get them?

Bronson Hill does a lot of Bravo III props. I had them "Pro Tune" a set once and was pleased with the results. $150/prop.

Changed them how? You mean a different pitch?

If you're not making significant changes, have the wrong props to begin with of damaged them, there isn't really much reason to change them. Having Joel Bronson lab finish them would be good. BIII props aren't know for being great, well balanced, effiecient props out of the box. You can thin and balance them and get 200-300 RPM out of them. If you don't need the RPM, they'll add a little cup to bring the RPM back down and you might pick up 2-4 MPH. It all depends on where you are in the power band for your motor.

I repowered so I went from labbed 26p's to 30's. I haven't yet have the 30's labbed yet because for one, I wasn't exactly sure what I needed to have done to them so now I have some summer hours to know, and two, Joel was busy as a one armed paper hanger at the begining of the season and I couldn't keep him on the phone long enough to talk about them!

I'll have mine done this fall/winter and can't wait to at least have them cleaned up and balanced. I'm also getting some significant "burning" on the trailing edge of the rear prop that I need ot figure out. Could be too much trim at high speed but I can't tell what my speed is doing when the speedo is buried solid! I'm figuring it out slowly as I learn the motor.

If you would get the margarita glass out of your hand while you're taking that party barge on a speed run you'd be able to look at a hand-held GPS to know where your speed is at!
