Default Mary Kate Crystal lakes,, hull and bottom cleaner ???

I have had good succes with star brite instant hull cleaner, but wal mart stopped carrying it. On-off is way too harsh for me.. Saw this Mary Kate Crystal lakes stuff that you mix with water, seems it would be even less harsh,, anyone ever try it,, how well does it work.. Thanks

I use on/off, but mix it with water to about a 30-40% strength. Wipe down the hull with a brush that I only use with the on/off. (just a thought)

I've had a hard time finding the starbrite brand also.....did they stop making it? That would suck. Cause you know the upper chesapeake isn't known for the cleanest water

They still make it,, wal mart used to have it for 7.99,, I went to a local marine supply store and they wanted 13.99..

Just wondering about the Mary Kate stuff,, says one container makes 6 gallons,, so realistically I should be able to get approx. 6 cleanings.. just need to know if it works well..

You use a gallon per cleaning?????
I only use that stuff on the hull from the water line down. Pour 1-2 inches of water in a bucket then add 25-35% more in on/off. Works like a charm and I only use a 1/4 gallon of "mixed" material each cleaning of the hull. (and the hull doesn't get cleaned with this stuff every use either)

Nope,,, I use about 3/4 of a 32 ounce bottle of Star-brite instant hull cleaner per cleaning.. I know nothing of the crystals stuff, but it says, makes UP TO 6 gallons, so I figure if it works I would get a minimum of 6 cleanings,, if it works real well, make that 12,, at a much lower price than the star-brite stuff... I leave my boat in for 2-3 weeks at a time and the Hudson leaves some NASTY growth below the water-line,,, Just trying to find out if this crystal lake stuff works as well as the less harsh star brite, or the harsher on-off stuff at removing the growth and brown stains..

just about all the HD cleaners are just Muratic Acid ....I put MA in the same spray bottle as the 3M hull cleaner comes in ....I use in full strength ...but prob is a good idea to dilute it down as long as its still effective ....m
