115.8 mph Average
Matt and Julie from Throttle Up we could not have done it without you. I'm glad we did not have to bring out the Big Dogs (next time?). Lee Austin is the hardest working hydro motive engineer in boatracing, and this time he nailed it. We had a couple of REALLY crazy spikes on our GPS but are confident in the official time, which seemed to work for most of the other Teams involved in the Kilo's.
Thanks to all our fellow racers who continue to support us, low budget, old age and all. Thanks to the other SS boats who came to NC and made it an interesting show. SQ

We are so very proud of the two of you. I cannot praise you both enough, for working so diligently on your Kilo set-up. Congrats to both of you on your new Kilo Record of 115.8 MPH. Loan Shark's GPS spiked to 118 (actually ours spiked even higher) but this is an average timed speed through the entire kilo. If your GPS reads 118 or 121 from the entrance buoy to exit you would most likely get those numbers for an average. It was not a radar or gps event it was a timed Kilo with five (5) stop watches reporting and averaged. SQ

I guess that explains why your speed was so much lower than I expected it to be.
Good job Steve and Lee. Sometimes running a Kilo is not as easy as it looks.
