Showtime Racing, 36' Skater with 525EFIs and Merc VI drives has two 380S K-planes under/behind the sponsons, with no tunnel tab. It works for them.
DocManRich37's former 25 Daytona with a single 525EFI had no tabs whatsoever, and ran fine just like that with drive trim.
