Default tach recall help

Does anyone have any tachs with a recall switch added? I have tried the ones that Summit sells and they do not work properly(see previus post-Tach recall ) I have found that Gaffrig sells a recall kit that is 3X the price of the one I got from Summit. Has anyone used the Gaffrig kit? Maybe the relay in the Gaffrig unit will stand the vibration better, But I would like to get some feedback before shelling out the $150. Thanks guys

Interesting...I installed one of the Summit recal kits years ago and it never worked either. Didn't take the time to diagnose the problem and I sold the boat earlier this week.

Thanks for the reply Cord. Apparently not too many people are using this feature.

I have an autometer recall in the hot rod and it works great. Connections like a standard tach, if this helps any.

I think the problem with the automotive type recall switch is that it may not be able to withstand the shock experienced in a marine application. This theory makes sense to me, but I wish someone that has used the Gaffrig/Livorsi recall could confirm this before I shell-out the bucks.
