Default Guns on Boats

I'm looking for info about people that carry guns on boats. More importantly, anyone that's ever needed to show a gun or use a gun to protect thier family and vessel from intruders.

This is probably more of a cruiser/yacht type of issue but OSO seems to hold every answer...so who do you know?

Any stories of piracy would be great.

"Boating" ran an article on this very issue a while back. I'll see if I have that particular mag at home....

Found it, Boating Magazine July 2005 edition. "Trigger Happy: Guns Onboard? It's A Loaded Question."

Ron, Try a search on the "Ask The Captain" section of BoaterEd.com. I know that I've seen the subject there a couple of times.

Humm, I sort of need to do my own research.

Plus I get to play with some cool toys.

Don't try to board my boat.
