Default Vinyl Graphics R & R

Wanna replace just the graphics on both sides of the boat. Im gonna be taking the originals off myself and having the vinyl shop put them on. What is the best way to go about taking the graphics off ? What kind of products should I use? I have a West Marine and a few other little marine shops all around my house if someone could recomend a certain product. Here is pictures of the boat : http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/9/4/80272694.htm

Thanks,

Mike

The graphics are small so you should have no problems just using a hair dryer to heat them up and just peel them off.....if any glue residue is left behind some goof off or even WD-40 will take it off.

well that depends on what it looks like under the graphics. If it hasnt been exposed to the elements for too long you may just get away with hitting it with some 3M-FinessIt or just wax it. But if you have a huge difference between the two you can do a light wetsanding with some 1200 or 1500 then hit it with the 3M and wax.....
from the pics you should have minimal work...

Yeah, there is little to no sun fade on the boat so it should be easy. Thanks for the help Wally !

I wouldn't use Finness-it if you plan on re-vinyling. It leaves a film on gel thatlooks great, but doesn't let vinyl adhere properly. (use it over gel and vinyl when finished. Personally, 3M Imperial compound (white) works wonderful on gel to make it shine. The particles break down as you buff till it shines! I like the white foam compounding pads by 3m better than wool ones and aren't as messy!
