Default This weeks Mesa Project 670 hp

OK I haven't posted anything lately here is a quick fix for this week this is one of our MB650na based on a 540 ci Dart block Lunati rotating assembly custom cam and ported Brodix heads I used a 9022 holley with a Dart intake for ease of use this engine made from 3000rpm to 5400rpm over 600 ft lbs of torque at 5500 rpm it made 599 ft lbs we are trying another port configuration with our standard camshaft design and were making more torque for a longer period and the engines are idling like taxi cab motors I made 16 pulls on this engine and used 6 gallons of fuel this is due to our new o2 sensor set up in each port with the stager jet set up I have in this engine we've picked up power all up and down in the RPM range . As far as I know this o2 set up is being used only by manufacturers and I can see why it's expansive as hell but it works a blind man can tune with this set up. Hope you guys enjoy. Sincerely Laz Mesa

The pics above include the block with the rings individually filed fit in each bore the finished short block and the finished head after cc'ing each chamber. And these are after coming out of the spray booth and on to the dyno cart for installing accessories and wiring .

This O2 sensor set up it's been out for a while but just recently has it come down in price for a working person to be able to afford it I've heard of manufacturers using it and the second it was at my reach I jumped at the opportunity to purchase it for development purpose here in the shop the way it works is there is a O2 sensor in each cylinder pipe so the person can fine tune the carb or specifically the efi set ups . You are able to track it through the rpm range and it works separate to the dyno it runs off the comp in it's own program.

Laz I see you said your trying different port configurations.

Are you doing this or Dart?

And are you seeing much difference than there standard CNC port configuration???You must be doing a lot of R&D on getting these #'s
