Gonna try to drag my heap down from Illinois on Sat. morning to watch the shootout- where would be the best place to put the boat in? It's just a 27', so I don't need a huge area. I'm sure the crowds will be tough. Thanks- Toolz

toolz,
Yes, public beach #2 is best. Stay on hwy 54 and go over the grand glaize bridge. The turn off is to the left less than a mile past the bridge. When you see the sign for Town and Country Motel it's the next left turn.

I would put in at Blue Moon marina off 54-52 right next to shooters. I put in my 36 nortech all the time there. good ramp and wont be busy and is the closest ramp. call me if you need help. easy to find just give them a call, nice people and you can keep your trailer there also.right next to ledges condos, alot of shootout guys are staying here, also where Nortech central is. jim 636 236-4141

State park is a very nice ramp, but it can be very busy. Blue moon is an OK ramp, but it has a nasty crook right at the end you must negociate and it's quite steep. I've always been nervous about using that ramp (but I usually do). Blue Moon also has gas some cute gas girls (who know squat about boats so watch them) and they are very close to the Shooters.
