thinking about trading my 2004 f 350 4x4 6.0 in on ... A chevy hd 2500 , 2006 , 6.6 4x4 duramax , with the new 6 speed auto ............ seems sweet , my fords been in and out of shop kinda had it ?

I have been looking at the duramax also. It rides nice but does not tow as much as the ford. I have an older ford and it has been great but I hear that the newer 6.0s have had some problems.

I've got a 04' duramax 2500hd 4x4, my boat dry is 11,800#, drag it from Houston to Austin 2-3 times a yr. Last Nov. went from Houston to Ft Lauderdale, no problems. Got around 10mpg @80! Had a 2001 same set up, loved it also.

The new 6 speed Allison should be sweet. Isn't there also another horespower increase? Wonder if the rated max towing weight will be increased?

yes they increased the HP and tourqe also...

I drove the new duramax 6 speed today , nice like driving a manual 6 speed at the push of the button , i have 3 1999 f 350 with 7.3 power-strokes love the trucks , 1 has over 220.000 miles on it never had a problem , pull over 13.000 pounds around every day , got this 6.0 2004 , and its kinda junk , using water , makes a hell of a noise out of turbo i think , when under a load , been in the shop 3 times , probably lose my ass when i trade '' but want a nice truck ''

besides the Ford warrantee not being worth shlt.....
