Default A new Y2K for BC Canada !!

Started the next of many Y2K's. This one is going to be black and white, like Oh Zones. So far the hull is layed up, bow is balsa cored and the safety core is down the keel. The center balsa core keeps the hull from pre releasing in the mold. The transom is also in. The deck is also layed up. We are in the process of cutting out all the foam coring, which will start going down tomorrow.

Awsome boat!

in the picture it looks like you leave the strakes empty, is that the case?

RT,
No the strakes are not empty. Up in the bow area the strakes are filled with a wood composit. In the rest of the hull the stringers are in the strakes. The stringers were bedded in today and will be glassed in monday. After that the entire hull from the chine down will be balsa cored.

We were down to see JC in July, and ordered two Y2K's. These must be the first of our boats. Excellent to see how they are coming along.

WMM,
Glad you finally made it. I missed ya when you came to visit. Any, here is a progress report.

Deck is completed
swim platform is completed
cockpit liner is almost done.
stringers are glass in the hull
balsa core will be completed by weeks end

By next week, she'll really start coming together.
WMM, I guess were all curious. What HP motors are you going to be putting in these Y2K's ??
I'll have some pictures up tomorrow night.

Hi Rick, JC said you were holidaying when we were out there. Hope you enjoyed your time off!!

The first hull is going to get a totally custom built all aluminum 1000+ HP big block. (Aiming for over 100 MPH) The second just a standard Merc package 525, 575, 600 - undecided as of yet.

We are all going crazy waiting - need to be ready for water tests by the end of May 06.

I look forward to a few more pics tonite!!!

Thanks Rick!

Brian
