I just had to have one of my sea pumps rebuilt($200.00) they can't be that hard to do my self? does any one know were I can get a part's break down and how to do a rebuild on one and what has to be done when one burns up.The guy said the pieces get into the oil cooler?I have very expensive motors and want them to stay the way they run.The motor runs cool now but the other is higher in temp then the rebuilt one and it most likely needs rebuilding too? I picked up a bunch of mud in the strainer and I think thats what burned up the one pump and might of damaged the other? I noticed there is more water pumping out the rebuilt side and wondering If I should rebuild the other pump? I'm new to this type of boat set up and want to learn as much as possible to save on repairs(any books etc....) any input would be appriciated.

Do a search. There are a couple threads on rebuilding the pump. Not hard to do at all. $40-$50 of parts & you will be ready to go.

Buy the complete kit. It includes plastic housing, impeller, plate, and seals. Mercruiser raises the price each year . The current price is around $90. Buy a spare. I change mine each year.

Agree.... if you have the old style housing, buy the new style housing, far less parts, no gaskets and uses an O ring... very easy job to replace.....

or upgrade to aftermarket..........

Look for those recent threads, lot's of details on how to do it.....
