I do believe there is another post a long time ago, but I am running a 23 pitch mirage converted to an acelerator and polished by Houston prop. I have the 496 HO (425hp) and I get 68.1 GPS (best). Hope that helps.
What do you have?

Thumbs up Re: 25 Outlaw Owners. What size and brand props

By the way... I would highly recomend Houston prop. (here on OSO) They took my prop back 2 to 3 times until we got what we wanted out of it. Darren is great to work with. Just my $.02

Ask away, 454 mag 23" mirage, 502 mag 23" mirage plus, 500hp 25" mirage, 500 hp with ext. box 26" bravo

Mine was a 99 502 mag with cmi's K&N and ecu, it ran 68.7 gps at 5,100 on its best day

Had 70mph at 5000 RPM with a labbed 24 Pitch Mercury Racing 4 blade. Had the drive all the way in and dragging a bit of port tab. Had a lot of throttle left and as I said plenty of trim to trim out. New boat and got afraid of the RPM's being at 5000. Understand now the motor range is 4600 to 5200 and the rev limiter will kick in at 5350 RPM. Water was about an 18" chop and boat has hydraulic steering. Boat was so stable and solid.

I'm thinking I may need some more work to this prop as far as increasing the pitch a bit.

LIQUID WHAT DO YOU THINK????????????

I guess it all depends on what a lot of throttle means, you've never opened it up to see if it hits the limiter? Its going to be trial and error if you don't know what your peak rpm is.
