24' Shearwater prop
My friend has 24' Shear-water bay boat. With 300 Yamaha currently running 21 pitch mirage plus at 5600 rpm . 58 mph to 60 mph. Would a 4 blade prop be better for this boat ? He is looking to turn 5800 rpm to 6000 rpm.

Well this is a very common goal. However cruise speed and top end DO NOT go hand in hand. At 5600 he is probably experiencing god cruise speed and OK top end. If we prop him with a little higher RPM he will probably find a little more on top. However the closer he gets to the 6000 RPM the less his cruise speed will be. So it is really about defining your goals and propping to achieve them.
