Default Need quick purchase advice...

(THIS POST BROUGHT TO THE TOP SINCE THE CAR IS FOR SALE AGAIN 4 YEARS LATER.)

For all of you gear-heads whom your first car meant a lot...

I let my first car go for dumb reasons. I have just recently come across a car nearly identical to my first car, less being a different color and different wheels, yet same year, all original, 1 owner, always garaged, with 53,550 miles on it, and from the pic; completely flawless. Its 250 miles away.

I can afford the purchase price, but less able to park/keep such a vehicle living in/around such a metropolitan area (DC), but this is really tearing at me. My first car was a 1983 Monte Carlo (non-SS) with factory T-Tops, nothing too special, but still cherry and sweet, and I rebuilt a lot of it with my own hands.

I know some of you have kept your first car tucked away, and others of you regret giving yours up. So, should I jump on this one and make do with having to park and maintain it? Has it been worth the reward for those of you whom have done so?

Anyone near Scranton, PA?

I just called. The car has a significant deposit on it already. I will wait until after the scheduled pick-up date and call the seller again.

Wait 'til you find one exactly like your old one, or search for your old one. Although if your first car was driven like mine was, you may not want it back

My first car has been sitting in my warehouse since 1986. Not running, so its not much use to me ,But it was the first and I can still can say I still have it .If I did not have a place to store it I would of had to sell it I keep saying I will put it back to gether one day but , I would rather go boating,

My Chevelle was my second car and its running and I keep it in the garage so I can go RIP on it when I feel the urge

I would say make sure you have a place to keep it.Have fun

4 years later, same car is on AutoTrader again. I still can't cozy up to it since it's not the same color of my first car.
