Default Hey Hammond Hydrohoist Owners!

Did you all get your fun little bill in the mail this week? Looks like the price of admission went up a bit! What I want to know is....what are we paying for? It's not like they are providing us any additional services...hell, they don't even have powerful enough bubblers to keep the DOCKS from freezing in, much less the hoists. We don't take up any more room than any other boat during the season...and in the offseason, it's not like they are missing out on some other boat using our slips...the water is freakin' frozen! Tag this on with the little tidbit from the last issue of Harbor One News that states we will be charged the same as any other ramp user EVERY time after our first launch...and I think an angrily-worded letter may find its way into our harbormasters greedy little hands. The amount of times myself and Tony launched this year...geez...would have been cheaper to buy a season pass! I will gladly write it up and submit it for suggestions from the rest of you guys...under the pretense that nothing will actually come of it! However, it never hurts to let someone know you are pissed...as long as you are nice about it, right?

That sucks about the price going up. Look on the bright side they will not allow anyone to use lifts in Washington Park in Michigan City.

I thought this new guy would be better than the last guy. This sucks.

I also heard that they were going to start charging for leaving the trailers in the parking lot. Yea, the one 1/2 mile from the launch.

Boaters upset over Marina moving order

HAMMOND: Owners say piers are like neighborhoods

HAMMOND | About 50 people packed the Hammond Port Authority meeting on Tuesday to voice ire about a recent audit that may force more than 100 boaters to park their boats in new locations.

One by one, the boaters told the authority members that they didn't want to move their boats because it would break up friendships and cost them more money to rent larger slips.

Unlike traditional public comment periods, in which speakers state their names and home addresses, the boaters on Tuesday identified themselves by their names and pier numbers.

"You're breaking up what really amounts to neighborhoods out there. People become friends," said Kevin Coleman, whose boat is on T pier.

Marina Director Milan Kruszynski said a recent audit found that 144 boats were too long for their slips. That poses a danger and an insurance hazard, he said, because the boats might get clipped by other boats driving by.

Some of boats were too long by a matter of inches. The boaters were given time to adjust their equipment, such as removing ladders or anchor mountings, so that the ends of the boats don't extend into the common space between.

Those that are too long must upgrade to larger slips next year. It would cost roughly $300 more to upgrade to larger slips under the 2006 price schedule.

Dan - it's a $400 bill for 2005 (!) "Hydro-hoist fee". It also says on the bottom that you won't be able to reserve your 2006 slip until you pay up!

I say we all tell Milan Krustofsky to shove it up his a$$...geez...first a ragbagger, now this! When is Bob Zubik going to run for Harbor Director already!!!

I'm a little slow here, they charge you $400.00 a year extra because you have a Hydro-hoist ? And the reason for that is ? Maybe it's for all the extra electric that little blower motor uses to fill it up, OK now I understand.
The other problem is no big deal, Just extend your dock so your boat doesn't stick out.

Say what.....I haven't received this one yet. We currently pay $300.00 a year for the privilege of having a hydro-hoist. Is this going to $400.00 or is it in addition to the $300.00?
