Default Cat vs. V

Any insight out there on Cats vs. Vs? We have always boated on performance Vs growing up, but today I had a chance to drive a cat and really enjoyed it. The cat was very stable at speeds over 65mph and smoother in the 1 to 2 foot chop than the Vs riding along side it. What are the drawbacks of the catamaran designs?

What do you prefer?

Spin-outs or flip-overs?

A little caution, common sense and no alcohol. More accidents happen in deep v's than in cats. Count the ones in stepped v's alone in Biscayne.

I am bidding on a 50' carbon Cougar Cat as we speak in London. Hull weighs around 7,000 lbs...T-1050's and it's 160mph...and safe at 100...which is why my interest.

A 26 Awesome Cat with a NA 540. The boat had a GPS speedo and would do 90mph. The boat would porpose in the midrange but felt extremely stable at speeds above 65.

Hey, Rob I'm glad you to play in a kitty, pretty cool huh?! I'm leaning towards a cat, probably in the 30' to 36' range with moderate power. I've researched the insurance issue with a cat, yes it is higher than a V, but not as bad as some of the horror stories you've heard.
